How deep is deepest oil well

Since oil takes millions of years to form, for all intents and purposes, it’s a finite resource. We’re drilling deeper because we’re literally running out of oil. But depth comes at a cost. Deep offshore drilling requires more money and energy, not to mention hazards for both the environment and workers. Let us explain some of the challenges:

The Kola Superdeep Borehole was the longest and deepest borehole in the world for nearly 20 years. In May 2008, a new record for borehole length was established by the extended-reach drilling (ERD) well BD-04A, which was drilled by Transocean for Maersk Oil in the Al Shaheen Oil Field in Qatar. Transocean drilled a total length of 12,289 m The world’s deepest oil well is over 40,000 feet deep Jeff Desjardins, Visual Capitalist Mar. 21, 2017, 7:33 PM In the world’s deepest gold mine, workers will venture 2.5 miles (4 km) below the Earth’s surface to extract from a 30-inch (0.8m) wide vein of gold-rich ore. In the world’s deepest gold mine, workers will venture 2.5 miles (4 km) below the Earth’s surface to extract from a 30-inch (0.8m) wide vein of gold-rich ore. While these depths are impressive, mining is limited by the frailty of the human body. -No Data Reported; --= Not Applicable; NA = Not Available; W = Withheld to avoid disclosure of individual company data. Notes: Average depth may not equal averaging of components due to independent rounding. See Definitions, Sources, and Notes link above for more information on this table. In September 2009, the rig drilled the deepest oil well in history at a vertical depth of 35,050 ft (10,683 m) and measured depth of 35,055 ft (10,685 m) in the Tiber Oil Field at Keathley Canyon block 102, approximately 250 miles (400 km) southeast of Houston, in 4,132 feet (1,259 m) of water. What is the deepest oil well ever drilled? You really need to clarify your question a bit. The deepest human drilled hole in the ground is the Kola Superdeep Borehole. It is just 9 inches in diameter, but at 40,230 feet (12,262 meters) reigns as t

The two deepest hydrocarbon producing wells (producing deeper than. 26,000 ft) were completed in 1977 and 1979. Deep gas-producing wells account for 70
